Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is all set to take oath for another term on October 17, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Dusshera ground in Panchkula Sector 5 at 10 am, as confirmed by the party in a statement released on Saturday, October 12. It is reported that senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and chief ministers from some BJP-ruled states will also be present at the event.

Sanjay Bhatia, a BJP leader, mentioned that the ceremony is expected to be a grand affair with arrangements made to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees. He further stated, “We have received information that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will grace the ceremony. Chief Ministers from neighboring states and some Union ministers are also expected to attend.”

Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar confirmed the date of the oath-taking ceremony, stating, “We have received approval from the Prime Minister and on October 17, the swearing-in ceremony of the chief minister and his council of ministers will be held in Panchkula.”

Following the Haryana Assembly election results announced on October 8, the BJP emerged as the single largest party with 40 seats, surpassing the Congress by 11 seats. Additionally, three independent MLAs from Haryana have extended their support to the BJP. The Congress secured 37 seats in the election, while other parties like JJP, AAP, and INLD faced a significant defeat.

In a reassuring statement to the farmers in the state, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar emphasized his government’s commitment to purchasing crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP) and directly depositing the funds into the farmers’ accounts. He also highlighted the youth welfare initiatives undertaken by the Haryana government.

“…To date, we have procured 5.73 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in Haryana at MSP, and additionally procured around 1.30 lakh metric tonnes of millet. We assure the farmers that we will continue to buy their produce at MSP and ensure timely payments. During our mandi inspections today, we reiterated our support to the farming community and pledged to address any challenges they may face,” he stated.
