The Government of Andhra Pradesh has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Microsoft to provide skill development in artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies for approximately 200,000 students and youth.

According to Nara Lokesh, the Minister for IT, Electronics, and Education, this initiative aims to train both secondary school students and young adults in AI and various advanced skills, preparing them for careers within the state’s IT sector and beyond.

Over the course of the next year, the training program expects to reach 200,000 participants. Lokesh emphasizes that the training provided by Microsoft will empower youth to capitalize on the global opportunities emerging in AI and related fields.

As part of the initiative, Microsoft plans to deliver AI and cloud computing training to 500 teachers and 10,000 engineering students from 50 rural engineering colleges across the state. Additionally, 30,000 students from 30 industrial training institutes (ITIs) will receive training in AI focused on enhancing digital productivity.

Furthermore, around 50,000 individuals will undergo 100 hours of AI training aimed at improving public service delivery, including training for government officials, particularly those in the Civil Services, to equip them with essential AI skills.
