The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has established the Khadi India Pavilion at Mahakumbh 2025, inviting visitors to explore this exhibition that celebrates India’s rich heritage and commitment to supporting sustainable, locally-produced goods, as stated in a press release from the Ministry of Culture.

The Khadi India Pavilion at Mahakumbh 2025 highlights the country’s extraordinary legacy in traditional crafts, textiles, and indigenous industries, with a primary focus on Khadi. The exhibition, located in Prayagraj, will run until February 26 and will feature a total of 152 stalls, including 98 dedicated to Khadi products and 54 showcasing items from village industries, representing over 20 states across India.

This pavilion emphasizes the fusion of tradition, sustainability, and craftsmanship, providing visitors with an insightful perspective on Khadi’s pivotal role in promoting unity and preserving cultural values. Set against the historic backdrop of the Maha Kumbh Mela, it reinforces the nation’s commitment to advancing local industries and sustainable practices.

The Khadi Utsav exhibition in Prayagraj demonstrates India’s passion for Khadi and its transformative journey under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative. The exhibition is drawing a significant number of visitors eager to engage with the Khadi Utsav, organized by the MSME, which celebrates local artistry and cultural heritage. Additionally, the Ministry has paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the exhibition site, emphasizing the theme of self-reliance embodied in the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

This event underscores the nation’s dedication to nurturing local industries while prioritizing sustainability and cultural preservation. With the Mahakumbh Mela expected to attract around 40 to 45 crore (400 to 450 million) pilgrims, it serves as an essential platform to highlight the achievements of various initiatives.
