Hyundai is preparing to release a new electric SUV in India, marking the electrical variant of the widely popular Creta. This much-anticipated model, the Creta EV, is scheduled to be unveiled on January 17, coinciding with the inaugural day of the Bharat Mobility Show 2025. It will be presented alongside Hyundai’s Ioniq 9 EV, providing insights into the brand’s electric future.

The Hyundai Creta EV is set to face stiff competition, going against Mahindra’s newly introduced BE 6e (which might be rebranded as BE 6), the Tata Curvv EV, the MG ZS EV, and the forthcoming Maruti electric SUV, the e Vitara, which will also be launched at the same event.

Design of the Hyundai Creta EV

Hyundai is expected to maintain many design features from the traditional combustion engine Creta in the EV version. The electric SUV may include subtle design modifications, such as a closed-off grille, updated bumpers, and new alloy wheel styles.

Interior Features of the Hyundai Creta EV

Anticipated interior enhancements are expected to improve the overall driving experience. Features might include a three-spoke steering wheel, a conveniently located drive selector near the steering column, and a revamped center console that includes two cup holders along with buttons for features such as an electronic parking brake, ventilated seats, auto-hold, and a 360-degree camera. Several interior components, particularly the HVAC controls, are likely to be inspired by the facelifted version of the Alcazar.

The Creta EV is expected to maintain a dual-screen setup for the infotainment and instrument cluster, complemented by physical controls for user convenience. Its infotainment system may introduce features specifically tailored for electric vehicles along with an updated software interface.

Specifications of the Hyundai Creta EV

On the specifications front, the Creta EV is expected to come with a 45kWh battery pack. While this is smaller than the MG ZS EV’s 50.3kWh battery and the Maruti eVX, which ranges between 49-61kWh, it is comparable to the entry-level Curvv EV, which also offers a more substantial 55kWh alternative.

It is anticipated to feature a single front-axle-mounted motor, capable of producing approximately 138 horsepower and 255Nm of torque.
