US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to visit India later this month, as confirmed by Ambassador Sergio Gor, who expressed eagerness to welcome his “good friend” to the country. Rubio emphasized the United States’ commitment to strengthening its partnership with India, highlighting the mutual benefits for both nations and the wider world.
Rubio is expected to arrive in New Delhi on May 24 for a two-day visit. His agenda includes a bilateral meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, as well as participation in a gathering of the Quad foreign ministers. This will mark Rubio’s first visit to India since taking office last year.
Ambassador Gor noted in a post on X that under President Trump’s leadership, investment is returning to the United States at unprecedented rates, with Indian companies planning to invest $20.5 billion in various sectors such as technology, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. Among these plans, 12 Indian firms announced investments totaling $1.1 billion on Wednesday. Gor remarked that these partnerships are fostering job creation in America and enhancing supply chain resilience.
