According to an industry insider, over 100 employees from Glenmark Pharmaceuticals’ consumer care division have been laid off. The affected sales staff were spread across various regions in the country. The decision to downsize comes as the company reviews its operations to better adapt to future market conditions.

A spokesperson for Glenmark stated, “We consistently assess our global business strategies to boost efficiency and retain our competitiveness in a changing landscape. As part of this structured approach aimed at optimizing resources and ensuring long-term sustainability, some positions have become redundant. We are dedicated to offering support to those affected through job transition assistance.”

The insider reported that the affected employees were summoned to a hotel in Hyderabad, where they were informed of their termination. There were protests from the employees regarding the decision at the site, according to the source.

The company spokesperson further emphasized, “We are committed to providing essential support to our colleagues during this transition. Our employees are a top priority for us, and we pledge to handle this process with care, sensitivity, and respect for those impacted. Concurrently, we remain focused on our ongoing mission to serve patients and fulfill our responsibilities within the healthcare sector.”
