Folks Motor, a technology-driven company focused on clean mobility, announced on Tuesday that it has registered Folks Funds with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as a Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF). According to the company, Folks Funds will employ a sector-agnostic investment approach, concentrating on high-growth opportunities in areas such as warehousing infrastructure, the electric vehicle ecosystem, data centres, and real estate.

The Fund plans to invest through a diversified mix of equity, debt, and convertible instruments, utilizing portfolio companies and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) rather than pursuing direct ownership of physical assets.

Nikhil Anand Khurana, Managing Director of Folks Motor and Chief Investment Officer of Folks Funds, stated, “We believe the next decade of value creation will be driven by sectors underpinning India’s energy transition, industrial expansion, and logistics backbone. Through Folks Funds, we are defining the EV supply chain as an investable asset class, one that can attract disciplined domestic and global capital into critical growth infrastructure.”

This initiative is expected to catalyze investment in sectors essential to India’s evolving industrial landscape, emphasizing sustainable growth and technological advancement.

The announcement was published on April 21, 2026.
