Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav faced a setback when he was allegedly denied entry into the JP International Centre in Lucknow. In response, he chose to garland a bust of Jayaprakash Narayan mounted on a vehicle outside his residence on the occasion of the freedom fighter’s birth anniversary.

Taking to social media, Yadav shared photos of himself surrounded by a large crowd in Lucknow as he paid homage to the great freedom fighter. He captioned the pictures with a message of perseverance and determination for the Samajwadi Party.

Earlier, Yadav had accused the BJP government of obstructing Samajwadi Party members from honoring Jayaprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary. He mentioned that barricades were set up near his residence, preventing his visit to the JP International Centre in Lucknow.

Despite the hurdles, hundreds of SP workers gathered outside Yadav’s residence as ambiguity persisted regarding his visit to the Jayaprakash Narayan International Centre.

In response to the situation, Samajwadi Party leader ST Hasan criticized the Uttar Pradesh government, insinuating that they prioritized celebrating Godse’s birth anniversary over that of freedom fighters like Jayaprakash Narayan. He expressed disappointment at the government’s actions and reiterated the party’s right to commemorate the birth anniversary of the revered freedom fighter.

Meanwhile, SP national general secretary Professor Ram Gopal Yadav urged party members to block the roads leading from Akhilesh Yadav’s residence to the Jaiprakash Narayan Convention Center in protest.

Akhilesh Yadav also called upon Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to intervene in the matter, citing Nitish Kumar’s association with Jayaprakash Narayan’s movement in the past.

In response to Yadav’s remarks, JD(U) national spokesman Rajiv Ranjan Prasad criticized the SP leader for not upholding the principles of Jayaprakash Narayan, accusing him of playing politics in the late leader’s name.

Additionally, BJP leader Shazia Ilmi called out Yadav, suggesting that if he truly wanted to pay tribute to Jayaprakash Narayan, he should reconsider his alliances with parties that the freedom fighter opposed.

Overall, the incident involving Akhilesh Yadav’s tribute to Jayaprakash Narayan showcased a clash of ideologies and political tensions, highlighting the complex dynamics in the realm of Indian politics.
