In a tragic event, a functionary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reportedly took his own life by shooting himself with a licensed firearm in Datia city, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday. The deceased individual has been identified as Jitendra Mevafarosh, who served as the general secretary of the BJP’s district unit.

According to police officials, Mevafarosh had returned from a temple visit when he allegedly shot himself in the head around 10 AM. Dhirendra Mishra, the in-charge of the Kotwali police station, mentioned that a family member reported that Mevafarosh was experiencing significant pressure from certain individuals regarding financial transactions. It was claimed that they were also pressuring him to sell his home.

The authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to this tragic decision.
