In Bulandshahr, a father and son recently found themselves in serious legal trouble shortly after celebrating the father’s release on bail. Rizwan Ansari, who had just been freed from detention, and his son Adnan were apprehended on charges of illegal arms smuggling. Police officials reported that they seized a substantial quantity of unauthorized firearms and ammunition, as well as a vehicle belonging to the suspects.

Superintendent of Police (Rural), Rohit Mishra, revealed that Rizwan, who resides in Shekh Sahiban Mohalla of the Khurja Nagar area, had been previously imprisoned for arms-related offenses and was released on bail on December 26. Following his release, the neighborhood erupted in fireworks, DJ music, and celebratory gunfire, prompting authorities to take action against him once again.

Acting on a tip-off, police from Khurja Nagar and Khurja Dehat intercepted Rizwan’s vehicle on the highway. The duo attempted to escape but was quickly caught after a short chase. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered an arsenal of illegal weapons, including five .315 bore pistols with ten live cartridges, two 12-bore pistols with six cartridges, and two .32 bore pistols accompanied by six cartridges.

Rizwan has a history of trouble with the law, facing six prior charges—five from Bulandshahr and one from Delhi—while his son Adnan has been implicated in two cases in Bulandshahr. Both individuals have been charged under the relevant legal statutes and will be remanded to jail following due process.

The Superintendent emphasized the police department’s stringent stance on illegal activities and arms trafficking, asserting their commitment to maintaining law and order in the community.
