Maruti Suzuki has officially made its foray into the electric vehicle (EV) sector by launching the e VITARA at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, a premier automotive showcase in India. The e VITARA is equipped with a high-performance battery that offers an impressive range of over 500 km on a single charge. Featuring a 61 kW battery, this SUV also supports rapid charging in more than 100 locations nationwide. Along with the vehicle, buyers will receive a smart home charging unit. Production of the e VITARA is expected to start at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat facility in the upcoming months.

Pricing Information: Yet to be Confirmed

The e VITARA is fitted with seven airbags, ensuring top-tier safety for passengers. According to Maruti Suzuki, the SUV’s interior quality rivals the best in its category. While the official pricing details are yet to be revealed, estimates suggest it could be positioned between Rs 15 to Rs 20 lakh, making it a competitive choice in the growing EV market.

Global Export Ambitions

Besides focusing on the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki plans to export the e VITARA to over 100 countries, including major markets like Europe and Japan. This marks a significant step for the brand as it ventures into the global electric vehicle arena. The e VITARA will compete against popular models such as the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta EV, and Mahindra BE 06.

Specifications and Design

The e VITARA has a length of 4,275 mm, a width of 1,800 mm, and a height of 1,635 mm, with a wheelbase measuring 2,700 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm. Weighing around 1,900 kg, the SUV is adorned with stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, a C-pillar-mounted door handle, a roof spoiler, and a tail lamp design inspired by lightbars.

Modern Interior Features

The interiors of the e VITARA have been completely redesigned to create a sophisticated and premium atmosphere. Notable features include a dual-screen configuration for the instrument panel and infotainment system, a floating center console, and a flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel. The vehicle also incorporates Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to enhance safety and convenience. The dual-tone dashboard adds a touch of elegance, making the cabin feel both contemporary and welcoming.

A Strong Player in the EV Market

With its impressive range, advanced features, and potential for global export, the e VITARA is set to become a prominent contender in the worldwide EV market, highlighting Maruti Suzuki’s commitment to innovative and sustainable mobility solutions.
