Anand Kumar Sinha has joined Tata Technologies as its Chief Digital and Information Officer, strengthening the company’s push to make digital, AI and secure by design technology core to its growth strategy. In his new role, Sinha will lead IT strategy, digital transformation programmes, secure by design implementation and operations, and data driven initiatives “as core enablers of business growth and customer value,” as he told ETCIO.

“My immediate focus is on understanding the business, people, customers and technology landscape, while strengthening the core IT foundations of stability, security and scalability,” Sinha said. He is also mapping Tata Technologies’ digital ecosystem to identify quick wins and building “strong, collaborative partnerships with business and technology leaders” to accelerate impact.

Before joining Tata Technologies, Sinha served as CIO & Global Head – IT at Birlasoft, where he led global IT strategy across infrastructure, cybersecurity, governance, enterprise platforms, AI and digital transformation. “My mandate was not only to modernize technology but to position IT as a strategic business enabler for business growth,” he recalled, adding that the journey was about “aligning technology with business outcomes at scale.”

Sinha’s leadership playbook is sharply defined: “Technology must always serve business outcomes. Cybersecurity is foundational, not optional. People, not systems, make transformation real. And in large programmes, simplicity consistently outperforms complexity.”

What excites him about Tata Technologies is its role at the intersection of engineering, digital and manufacturing. “Tata Technologies’ mission of ‘Engineering a Better World’ deeply resonates with my passion for building scalable, secure and future-ready digital ecosystems,” he said. “Together, we will shape what’s next – bigger, better, bolder.”
