Wipro announced on Monday its intention to acquire an additional 20 percent stake in Aggne Global Inc. for $28.5 million, raising its total ownership in the insurance technology firm to 80 percent. The deal is expected to close by June 5, 2026, and will be executed through Wipro IT Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Wipro. The purchase price of $28.5 million is subject to customary closing adjustments.

Aggne Group, which includes Aggne Global Inc. and its affiliate, Aggne Global IT Services Private Limited, specializes in providing information technology, consulting, and managed services to the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance sector. Wipro stated that this additional stake acquisition would enhance its presence in the insurance market, particularly in advancing AI and IP-led transformation initiatives for P&C insurers.

“The Aggne Group is a rapidly growing Insurtech firm that offers a comprehensive range of AI- and Intellectual Property-driven services aimed at helping insurers transform operations, improve efficiencies, and enhance customer experiences,” Wipro mentioned in its regulatory filing.

Aggne has shown consistent growth over the past few years, with revenues increasing from $18.9 million in FY24 to $24.2 million in FY25, and reaching $27.5 million in FY26. Wipro indicated that it would provide further disclosures should it pursue any additional stake in Aggne.

Wipro’s shares closed at ₹206.45 on Monday, reflecting a 1.10 percent increase from the previous trading session.
