Search Efforts Intensify on Day 7 of Operation Sheruwali in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri

A joint team of the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF is continuing its search for two to three terrorists believed to be hiding in the dense forests of the Dorimal-Gambhir Mughlan area in the Manjakote sector of Rajouri district. This operation, known as Operation Sheruwali, has entered its seventh day as of Friday.

Officials report that helicopters, drones, and sniffer dogs are aiding the ground troops. Additional reinforcements have been deployed to secure possible escape routes and support the ongoing anti-terror operation, which commenced on May 23 following a brief exchange of fire between the terrorists and security personnel.

Heavy firing and shelling occurred in Dorimal on Thursday as the search party tightened its cordon around the area. On May 25, the security forces dismantled a terrorist hideout in the region, which contained essential supplies. This hideout was subsequently destroyed.

In the past week, several high-ranking officials, including Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma and IG CRPF (Jammu) Amol V Homkar, have visited Rajouri for operational reviews and situational assessments.
