New Delhi: Virat Kohli delivered an impressive performance, scoring an unbeaten 105 runs to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a successful chase of 193 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their 12th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on May 13. This victory marked RCB’s highest successful chase against KKR, winning the match by six wickets and propelling them to the top of the points table.

Kohli displayed a masterful approach during the innings. After facing challenges in previous matches with consecutive low scores against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI), he showcased his renowned capabilities. Kohli adeptly anchored the innings, capitalizing on loose deliveries, rotating the strike effectively, and hitting sixes when necessary.

Kohli Matches Warner with 10th T20 Century

This innings marked Kohli’s 10th T20 century, putting him level with Australian cricketer David Warner for the most centuries in this format. With this achievement, Kohli now ranks third for the joint-most centuries in T20 cricket. He trails only Chris Gayle, who has 22 centuries, and Babar Azam, with 13.

Kohli Reaches 14,000 T20 Runs

In addition to his century, Kohli crossed the 14,000-run mark in T20 cricket, becoming the first Indian player to do so. He entered the match needing 78 runs to reach this milestone and achieved it in the 16th over against Sunil Narine.

Most Runs by Indians in T20 Cricket:

  1. Virat Kohli: 14,027 runs in 409 innings*
  2. Rohit Sharma: 12,491 runs in 456 innings
  3. Shikhar Dhawan: 9,797 runs in 331 innings
  4. Suryakumar Yadav: 9,654 runs in 345 innings
  5. Sanju Samson: 8,830 runs in 324 innings

KKR Sets Competitive Total of 192/4

Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a significant role for KKR, scoring 71 runs off 46 balls to help his team reach a respectable total of 192/4. The KKR wicketkeeper hit seven boundaries and three sixes during his innings. He formed a crucial 68-run partnership for the third wicket with Cameron Green (32 runs off 24 balls) and added another vital 76 runs with Rinku Singh, who remained not out on 49 from 29 balls. Their contributions were essential for KKR, especially following the early dismissals of Ajinkya Rahane (19) and Finn Allen (18).
