Suvendu Adhikari has declared a net worth of ₹85.87 lakh in his election affidavit submitted prior to contesting the West Bengal Assembly elections in 2026. This total comprises ₹24.57 lakh in movable assets and ₹61.30 lakh in immovable assets, according to the affidavit.
On May 8, 2026, Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Suvendu Adhikari after he was elected as the leader of the West Bengal BJP Legislative Party, positioning him to become the new Chief Minister of the state. The election is set against a backdrop of significant political competition, particularly with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) led by Mamata Banerjee, who has been a formidable presence in West Bengal politics.
Adhikari’s financial disclosure indicates a modest financial status considering his role as a prominent political figure, with notably no luxury assets such as cars or gold, instead reporting only ₹12,000 in cash. This transparency may play a role in shaping public perception as he seeks to strengthen the BJP’s position in West Bengal.
