Naidu Calls for Unity to Address Structural Gaps in Society

Mumbai: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his support for women’s reservation, advocating for growth-led welfare and a higher birth rate in India to address structural challenges collectively. Speaking at The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence, Naidu stated that reserving seats for women is the most effective path to enhance political participation. He dismissed concerns that delimitation could disadvantage southern states, emphasizing that any increase in parliamentary seats would be proportionately applicable across the country.

Regarding economic policies, Naidu highlighted that welfare should not rely solely on borrowing and aid. He asserted that governments must focus on generating wealth through reforms, investments, and growth in business sectors. Furthermore, Naidu called for a reassessment of the nation’s population policy, suggesting that India should promote families having at least two children to maintain its demographic advantage.
