Rahul Gandhi Claims PM Modi and Amit Shah Aim to Control Tamil Nadu from Delhi

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi commenced his campaign for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections on Saturday, criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah. He claimed they intend to govern the state from Delhi through the AIADMK.

During his campaign stops in Tiruvallur, Ranipet, and Trichy, Gandhi stated, “They want a CM who can take orders from Delhi.” He further remarked that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) aims to oust Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and replace him with a “puppet” from the AIADMK, suggesting that the foundational essence of the historic party has been compromised by the BJP.

Gandhi accused the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of conducting a cultural assault on Tamil Nadu and its linguistic heritage. He emphasized his commitment to protecting the state’s identity, asserting, “They don’t know what Tamil means to the people of the state.” He acknowledged the support from allies in the DMK and the broader INDIA coalition in defending Tamil culture against these perceived threats.
