M Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Analysis: What to Expect in RCB vs DC Clash

Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will host Delhi Capitals (DC) in their upcoming IPL 2026 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Their last encounter in Bengaluru saw KL Rahul deliver a stunning unbeaten 93, leading DC to a six-wicket victory, a match that became viral for Rahul’s celebratory antics.

Currently, RCB comes into this match on a strong footing, with their batters showcasing impressive form. Virat Kohli ranks as the second leading run-scorer of the tournament, while captain Rajat Patidar continues to be a formidable presence. Additionally, Romario Shepherd and Tim David have caused considerable challenges for opposing bowlers this season, contributing to a well-rounded batting lineup.

RCB’s bowling unit also boasts strong performances. Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have consistently impressed, and Krunal Pandya has excelled in the spin department. Consequently, the Delhi team will face significant obstacles, especially as some of their key batters are currently out of form. KL Rahul is among those struggling this season, and the middle order has not fully realized its potential. While Sameer Rizvi and Pathum Nissanka have performed well, there remains ample room for improvement.

In terms of bowling, DC has delivered commendable results; Lungi Ngidi and Mukesh Kumar have been particularly effective and will be crucial in their matchup against RCB.

M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Pitch Report: The pitch was notably dry in the last encounter and may show similar characteristics in this match against DC. As this is a day game, spinners could gain some advantage during the first innings. Thus, bowling first appears to be a strategic choice. If the pitch condition mirrors the previous game and remains dry, a total of 170-180 runs could be competitive. However, if the pitch behaves typically for Chinnaswamy, teams batting first may aim for scores around 230.
