Renault India to Raise Vehicle Prices by Up to 2% in January

New Delhi: Renault India announced on Friday that it will implement a price hike of up to 2% on its vehicles, effective January. This decision aims to counterbalance the effects of increasing input costs and changing macroeconomic conditions.

The French automaker currently markets three models in India: the Kwid, Triber, and Kiger. According to an official statement, “The price increase will vary across models and variants. Despite this adjustment, we are committed to providing high-quality products and a compelling value proposition for our customers.”

Renault’s price increase aligns with moves made by other automotive manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, all of whom have disclosed upcoming price hikes for the next month. These adjustments are primarily attributed to the depreciation of the Indian Rupee against the Euro and Dollar.

Looking Ahead: Renault’s 2026 Product Roadmap

In light of recent updates to the Kiger compact SUV and Triber MPV, Renault is refocusing its strategy towards an aggressive expansion in the SUV market. The company has outlined two significant launches scheduled for 2026:

1. The All-New Renault Duster
Renault plans to commence 2026 with the much-anticipated relaunch of the Duster on Republic Day. The global variant of this new generation has already been introduced, but the Indian version is expected to feature enhanced interior quality and upscale finishes to effectively compete in the local mid-size SUV market.

2. New 7-Seater SUV
Building upon the Duster platform, Renault is also developing a larger 7-seater SUV expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2026. Inspired by international models such as the Bigster or Boreal, this vehicle will include a longer wheelbase, three rows of seating, and unique design elements to set it apart from its 5-seater counterpart.
