Asian Paints Q2 PAT Climbs 46%; Tata Steel’s Profits Quadruple

Thomas Cook (India) Ltd on Wednesday reported a 1.68 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 70.75 crore in the September quarter.

The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 71.96 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal year, Thomas Cook (India) Ltd said in a regulatory filing.

Consolidated revenue from operations in the second quarter stood at Rs 2,073.84 crore as against Rs 2,003.76 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

Insecticides (India) Ltd on Wednesday reported a 3.73 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 59.10 crore for the September quarter due to higher expenses.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 61.39 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year, according to a regulatory filing.

Total income rose to Rs 640.20 crore during the July-September period of the 2025-26 fiscal year, from Rs 628.14 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

Data Patterns, a Chennai-headquartered Defence and Aerospace electronics company, has posted a profit after tax of ₹49 crore for the quarter ended September, 2025, up 62 per cent from the ₹30 crore it posted in the same quarter last year. Revenue in Q2 FY26 stood at ₹307 crore (₹91 crore).

For the half year FY26, PAT increased to ₹75 crore (₹63 crore) and revenue went up to ₹407 crore (₹195 crore).

Tata Steel has reported that net profit in the September quarter increased more than four times at ₹3,183 crore, against ₹759 crore logged in the same period last year, due largely to better realisation and higher sales volume.

Revenue was up at ₹58,689 crore (₹53,905 crore). 

The company has signed an agreement to buy out its joint venture partner’s stake in Tata BlueScope Steel for ₹1,100 crore.

P N Gadgil Jewellers on Wednesday reported an over twofold rise in consolidated net profit after tax to Rs 79.31 crore compared to a year ago.

The company’s profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 34.92 crore during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

Revenue from operations grew by 8.80 per cent during the quarter under review to Rs 2,177.62 crore, compared to Rs 2,001.31 crore in the same period of the previous year.

Muthoot FinCorp Ltd has registered a 59 per cent increase in profit after tax in Q2 of FY26 at ₹429.81 crore and 28 per cent growth in its revenue at ₹2,712.13 crore.

The standalone business also demonstrated strong asset quality and return ratios, with GNPA at 1.41 per cent and NNPA at 0.76 per cent. Profitability metrics remained robust, with ROA at 3.52 per cent (up 45 bps) and ROE at 27.05 per cent (up 454 bps), said a press release. 

SpiceJet posted a wider quarterly loss on Wednesday, hit by a drop in passenger traffic and mounting foreign exchange costs.

The company’s loss stood at ₹634 crore ($72.1 million) for the quarter ended September 30, compared with a loss of ₹442 crore a year ago.

SpiceJet has been slow to ramp up its fleet capacity despite multiple fundraises and settlements with lessors.

Marathon Nextgen Realty Ltd reported a profit after tax of ₹67 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2025, marking a 35 per cent year-on-year increase and the company’s highest-ever Q2 performance. The Mumbai-based real estate developer achieved a PAT margin of 43 per cent despite total revenues declining 6 per cent to ₹155 crore.

The company’s EBITDA grew 29 per cent year-on-year to ₹80 crore, while profit before tax surged 60 per cent to ₹78 crore. For the first half of FY26, PAT stood at ₹128 crore, up 47 per cent from the previous year.

Asian Paints reported a rise in quarterly profit on Wednesday, helped by strong domestic volume growth in decorative paints and a low base, after its earnings slumped a year earlier.

Consolidated net profit rose 43% to 9.94 billion rupees ($113.1 million) for the July-September quarter. The paint-maker’s profit halved to 6.95 billion rupees in the year-ago quarter.

Shriram Properties reported a net profit of Rs 8.6 crore in the second quarter of FY26, compared to a loss of Rs 0.8 crore in Q2FY25.

Revenue from operations stood at Rs 205 crore, up 46 per cent y-o-y, while total revenue rose 48% to Rs 229 crore in Q2FY26.

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd reported higher second-quarter profit on Wednesday, supported by strong order execution, though weaker operating margins dragged its shares down 3 per cent after results.

The state-owned fighter jet maker’s consolidated net profit rose 10.5 per cent to ₹1,669 crore billion rupees ($189.89 million) for the three months ended September 30.

However, HAL reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization margin of 23.50 per cent in the quarter compared to 27.4 per cent a year ago.

Honasa Consumer reported standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2025 at Rs 38.34 crore as against Rs 19.6 crore loss in the same quarter last year.

Gandhar Oil Refinery (India) reported standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2025 at Rs 32.22 crore as against Rs 18.27 crore in the same quarter last year.

Pfizer recorded net profit for the quarter ended September 2025 at Rs 189.02 (up 19%) crore as against Rs 158.35 crore in the year-ago period.

Sensex ended 595.19 pts or 0.71% higher at 84,466.51 after scaling to an intraday high of 84,652.01.

Nifty 50 settled with 180.85 pts or 0.7% gains at 25,875.80.
