The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched an online facility aimed at simplifying and facilitating the process for electors to fill out the Enumeration Form via its official website, https://voters.eci.gov.in. This move comes amid criticism surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) initiative.

To utilize this service, voters can log in using their registered mobile number or their Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number. Following this, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to the registered mobile number, allowing them to proceed to the “Fill Enumeration Form” option on the website.

It is important to note that this online service is available exclusively to those voters whose names on the electoral roll correspond with their Aadhaar card details.

After logging in, users must complete the necessary information displayed on the webpage. Upon filling out the form, the system directs them to an e-signature page, where a new OTP is sent for verification. Once the OTP is confirmed, the form is automatically submitted.

The ECI has encouraged all voters with mobile numbers linked to both their Electoral Roll and Aadhaar to leverage this convenient online tool.

Following a contentious phase in Bihar, the Second Phase of the Special Intensive Revision aims to register nearly 51 crore electors across nine states: Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, as well as three Union Territories: Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry. This effort encompasses 321 districts and 1,843 Assembly Constituencies.

The ECI has mobilized over 5.3 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs), 7.64 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs), 10,448 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs)/Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and 321 District Election Officers (DEOs) to ensure the SIR progresses smoothly and in a user-friendly manner.

For assistance, voters can connect with their BLOs through the ‘Book-a-call with BLO’ feature on the ECINet app or call 1950 along with their STD code for the toll-free helpline.
