Air India Flight from Colombo Faces Bird Strike, Safely Lands in Chennai

An Air India flight operating between Colombo and Chennai with 158 passengers encountered a bird strike on Tuesday, according to reports from airport authorities. Fortunately, the aircraft landed safely at Chennai Airport, and all passengers disembarked without sustaining any injuries.

The bird strike was detected after the plane had touched down. As a precautionary measure, the aircraft has been grounded for thorough inspections, leading to the cancellation of its scheduled return flight.

Air India arranged an alternate aircraft for 137 of the passengers, who were successfully transported back to Colombo. This incident follows a similar event last month, when an Air India flight from Hyderabad had to make an emergency landing at Visakhapatnam International Airport due to engine issues suspected to be caused by a bird strike.
