A government school teacher in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir was suspended and subsequently charged under the POCSO Act on Tuesday following allegations of sexually assaulting a girl student. According to officials, the teacher, identified as Ajaz Ahmad, is currently evading arrest.

In response to the incident, students organized protests against the teacher, prompting senior officials from the education department to visit the school located in Kakora on Tuesday. The protests concluded around 5:30 PM after an official suspension order and a First Information Report (FIR) were issued.

The suspension order described the alleged actions as “grave in nature.” Authorities have launched a manhunt to locate Ahmad, who remains at large.
