The OnePlus Pad 3 enters the market with the mantra that bigger is better. Featuring a substantial 13.2-inch display, powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and equipped with one of the largest batteries available in a tablet, it promises a seamless experience for work, play, and entertainment. However, this emphasis on size and premium features also results in added bulk and a higher price point.

Design
The OnePlus Pad 3 presents a significant increase in size compared to its predecessors, weighing in at 675 grams, making it less portable. Constructed with a metal unibody in a stylish Storm Blue, it measures 5.97 mm in thickness, complementing contemporary aesthetics. For users in India, a more subdued Frosted Silver color is also available.

Display
The flagship tablet boasts a grand 13.2-inch LCD display featuring a 3.4K resolution and an adaptive 144 Hz refresh rate. This results in sharp visuals and smooth scrolling for various multimedia. The familiar 7:5 aspect ratio is back, providing a balanced experience for both landscape media consumption and portrait comic reading. Although an OLED display would have offered deeper blacks and more vibrant colors, the existing display performs admirably.

OnePlus enhances the audio experience with eight built-in speakers, delivering a rich soundstage. The sound quality is sufficient for enjoying movies, music, and TV shows. The tablet includes a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera, suitable for online meetings and occasional document scanning.

Performance & Productivity
Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the OnePlus Pad 3 features configurations of either 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage or 16 GB RAM with 512 GB storage. The tablet manages multitasking, casual gaming, and light creative tasks smoothly, even in Open Canvas mode, allowing the user to view three applications simultaneously.

OnePlus’s OxygenOS 15 enhances usability with features like a taskbar, fluid gestures, and intelligent app suggestions. The Smart Keyboard, designed to augment productivity, provides a satisfactory typing experience, though stability may waver on soft surfaces like pillows. It performs best when placed firmly on a desk or tray.

Battery
A standout aspect of the OnePlus Pad 3 is its substantial 12,140 mAh battery, among the largest in today’s tablets. In practical use—emailing, web browsing, reading, streaming, and light multitasking—the battery easily lasts into the second day. It supports fast charging with an 80W SUPERVOOC charger.

While the display and audio quality are commendable, the larger size may not be ideal for extended reading or holding with one hand.

Verdict
The OnePlus Pad 3 represents a significant advancement in OnePlus’s tablet offerings, continuing the brand’s strong performance since its initial launch two years ago. It effectively meets key consumer demands such as display quality, processing power, battery longevity, and design. Ideal for those who engage in binge-watching, writing, and light work, it ranks among the top Android tablets currently available.

However, it may not suit individuals who prioritize portability or seeking a tablet appropriate for one-handed use. Additionally, the Pad 3 performs optimally with at least one accessory, typically the keyboard, which contributes to a total cost exceeding initial expectations.

Pricing

  • ₹47,999 for the 12 GB + 256 GB variant
  • ₹52,999 for the 16 GB + 512 GB variant

Pros:

  • Expansive 13.2-inch display
  • Excellent battery life
  • High-performance processor
  • Efficient multitasking
  • Impressive speaker configuration

Cons:

  • Heavy for prolonged use or single-handed handling
  • Lacks fingerprint sensor
  • Not equipped with OLED display
