Asia Cup 2025 Final: What If India vs Pakistan Ends in a Washout?

Dubai: India and Pakistan, two arch-rivals in cricket, are set to face off in the Asia Cup 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 28. This matchup marks the first instance in history where the two teams will contend for the continental title. Notably, Suryakumar Yadav’s Indian side has already triumphed over Pakistan twice in this tournament, and completing a hat-trick would not be unexpected, given Pakistan’s struggles in their previous encounters.

Ahead of the highly anticipated final, Pakistan captain Salman Agha has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to deliver a solid performance and claim the championship. He emphasized that the bowlers are likely to adopt an aggressive approach against India. However, this strategy was attempted during the Super Four encounter on September 21, resulting in a six-wicket loss for Pakistan.

The possibility of rain disrupting the match on final night is also a concern. While no matches in this tournament have been affected by weather so far, a reserve day has been designated for September 29. According to Asian Cricket Council regulations, if the final ends in a no-result due to rain or unforeseen circumstances, the trophy will be shared. Nonetheless, the presence of a reserve day decreases the likelihood of such a scenario, which has yet to occur in Asia Cup history.
