Maruti Suzuki Invicto Receives 5-Star Safety Rating from Bharat NCAP

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. announced on Thursday that its premium strong hybrid utility vehicle, the Invicto, has achieved a 5-star safety rating from the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP). This milestone contributes to the company’s existing 5-star Bharat NCAP lineup, which includes the all-new Dzire and the Victoris, as stated in the company’s release.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, remarked, “Safety has always been at the heart of Maruti Suzuki’s product philosophy. Bharat NCAP has ushered in world-class testing protocols in India, empowering customers to make informed choices.” He noted that the company now provides six airbags as standard across 15 models comprising 157 variants. Takeuchi further emphasized initiatives such as the NEXA Safety Shield and ARENA Safety Shield, which have aimed to standardize advanced safety features throughout the vehicle range, effectively blending safety with comfort and innovation for customers.

Launched in June 2023, the Invicto represents Maruti Suzuki’s most expensive and feature-rich offering to date. It includes advanced amenities such as a one-touch power tailgate, the next-generation Suzuki Connect system, six airbags, a 10-inch infotainment screen, and a panoramic sunroof.

Additionally, the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire made headlines in June as the first vehicle to receive a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat NCAP program. This recognition follows the Dzire’s strong performance in Global NCAP tests conducted last November, where it achieved five stars for adult occupant protection and four stars for child occupant safety. Key safety features of the Dzire include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and pedestrian protection.

The Bharat NCAP, aimed at improving road safety standards for motor vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tonnes, was officially inaugurated by Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in 2023.
