Bollywood’s much-anticipated action thriller, “War 2,” featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani, premiered on August 14, 2025. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji and a sequel to the 2019 hit “War,” has generated significant buzz and impressive box office performances, despite facing competition from Rajinikanth’s “Coolie.”

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, “War 2” earned approximately Rs 52.5 crore on its opening day across India. The film’s performance varied by region, with notable occupancy rates reported.

War 2 Box Office Collection Day 1 – Region-wise

Produced by Yash Raj Films, “War 2” achieved an overall Hindi occupancy of 29.24% on its first day, peaking at 47.90% during night shows. The Chennai region recorded the highest occupancy, reaching 77.50% for Hindi-language screenings, followed closely by Hyderabad at 73.50%. Other regions also performed well, with Bengaluru at 49.50%, Lucknow at 42.50%, and Kolkata at 39%.

War 2 Budget

Reports suggest that “War 2” was made with a budget of Rs 400 crore; however, the producers have not formally disclosed financial details regarding the film’s budget.

About War 2’s Plot and Cast

“War 2” follows the story of secret agent Kabir Dhaliwal, who faces allegations of betraying his country, leading to his former batchmate Vikram being tasked with tracking him down. In addition to the lead trio, the cast includes established actors such as Ashutosh Rana, Varun Badola, and Anil Kapoor, with Bobby Deol featuring in a post-credit cameo.
