Heavy Rains Bring Mumbai to a Standstill, Affecting Amitabh Bachchan’s Bungalow
New Delhi: Heavy rainfall in Mumbai has once again paralyzed the city, with veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan’s famous bungalow, Prateeksha, facing waterlogging issues. A video circulating online shows the Juhu bungalow submerged in water, with reports indicating that severe waterlogging has led to flooding in various parts of the city.
Social media has been abuzz with videos capturing the extent of the flooding, including a clip of a user on X (formerly Twitter) standing outside Bachchan’s residence. The user highlighted that even affluent localities have not escaped the impact of the relentless rains.
In the viral video, the individual remarked, “Look at how much water has accumulated here. It is being said that Amitabh Bachchan himself came out with a wiper to remove the water. Regardless of wealth, no one has been able to escape the Mumbai rains.”
Amitabh Bachchan’s Bungalow ‘Prateeksha’
It is reported that Amitabh Bachchan purchased this bungalow following the success of his 1975 film, Sholay, but officially moved in with his parents in 1976. Notably, it is said that the actor has gifted the bungalow to his daughter, Shweta Bachchan, who is recognized as an author, columnist, journalist, television presenter, and former model.

On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan was recently featured in Nag Ashwin’s action epic, Kalki 2898 AD, alongside prominent actors like Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone. The acclaimed Bollywood actor is widely known for his roles in films such as Sholay, Baghban, Black, Pink, and Mohabbatein. His acting career began with the 1969 film Saat Hindustani, where he starred alongside Madhu, Utpal Dutt, and Jalal Agha.
