The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charges against three individuals in connection with the grenade attack at the Amritsar temple. In a chargesheet submitted to the Special NIA Court in Mohali, the agency has accused Vishal Gill (also known as Chuchi), Bhagwant Singh (referred to as Manna Bhatti), and Diwan Singh (known as Sunny) for their involvement in both the planning and execution of the attack on the Thakurdwara Sanatan Temple in Chheharta, Amritsar.

Vishal Gill was one of two assailants on a motorcycle who threw a grenade during the early hours of March 15, 2025. The second assailant, Gursidak Singh (alias Sidki), was killed in a police encounter just two days following the incident. According to the chargesheet, Bhagwant Singh (Manna Bhatti) provided vital support to the attackers by offering shelter, concealing grenades, and supplying motorcycles for reconnaissance and logistical needs before and after the assault. Diwan Singh (Sunny) faces charges for harboring the co-accused and destroying evidence relevant to the case.

Another significant accused, Sharanjeet Kumar, was apprehended by the NIA in Gaya, Bihar, on September 5, 2025. Investigations are ongoing regarding him, as well as a foreign-based fugitive, Badalpreet Singh. Additionally, the agency’s investigations into case number RC-08/2025/NIA/DLI have uncovered transactions of terror financing from international handlers to local agents via UPI and MTSS methods, which are under further examination.

Efforts are underway to identify additional fugitives linked to this case, as well as to trace the international connections of the terrorism network implicated in the attack. This network is part of a broader conspiracy by terror factions operating both in India and abroad, aiming to instill fear among the populace and provoke communal discord in Punjab and the rest of the nation.
