The inaugural budget of the newly-established BJP administration in Delhi will be unveiled in the assembly between March 24 and 26, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Monday.

During a press briefing, she mentioned that the budget for 2025-26 will be formulated by integrating feedback from different segments of society.

“To ensure this is a budget for the people, we will convene meetings with representatives from various women’s organizations on March 5 at the assembly grounds. Moreover, we plan to engage with stakeholders from the education sector and the trading community on March 6,” the chief minister stated.

The BJP secured victory by claiming 48 seats in the 70-member assembly, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) captured 22 seats. The election results, held on February 5, were announced on February 8.

The chief minister also provided an email address and a WhatsApp number for residents of Delhi to submit their suggestions for the budget. She reaffirmed that all commitments made in the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ will be honored, asserting that her government is making significant efforts to accomplish this.

Gupta noted that only two Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports have been presented in the assembly to date, which have unveiled numerous corruption allegations against the former AAP government.

“Twelve additional CAG reports are still pending presentation, and further irregularities are likely to come to light,” she cautioned.

As mentioned, twelve additional CAG reports are yet to be submitted, suggesting that more discrepancies are on the horizon.

Cabinet ministers Ashish Sood and Manjinder Singh Sirsa were in attendance at the press conference.
