Congress Worker Himani Narwal’s Tragic Death: Mother Suggests Possible Involvement of Party Members

The mother of Congress worker Himani Narwal stated on Sunday that she suspects some individuals within the party could be complicit in her daughter’s “murder.”

“My daughter dedicated so much to the Congress, and party members frequently visited our home. Certain people within the party might be involved in the murder, as they may have felt threatened by her rapidly advancing political career,” remarked the victim’s mother, Savita.

Narwal’s brother Jatin echoed suspicions, alleging that the culprit “might belong to the Congress party, possibly someone who envied her swift rise.”

Savita mentioned that her daughter Himani Narwal “was very close to Asha Hooda [wife of Bhupinder Singh Hooda].” Jatin added, “…She participated in a padayatra with Rahul Gandhi…”

‘Himani Narwal murder’

The body of a young woman was discovered in a large blue suitcase near the Sampla bus stand in Haryana on Friday, after which the Sampla police station was informed.

Himani Narwal’s brother noted that the suitcase containing the body is “from our own home.”

Congress leader Srinivas BV asserted that Himani “met a brutal end through strangulation.” At the time, she was wearing a scarf, and mehndi designs adorned her hands.

Savita, the mother of the deceased, reminisced about her last conversation with Narwal. She recalled, “I was with her until 4 pm on February 27. She informed me she was heading to Delhi at 4 pm and took a bus from the Delhi bypass. I spoke with her again that evening, and she mentioned an event for Hooda sahab the next day, which would prevent her from talking. She promised to call me once she was available. I waited all day, and when I attempted to call her at night, her phone was off…The following morning, her phone turned on twice before shutting off again… Eventually, I received a call from the police station at 3 pm.”

‘Election and party led to my daughter’s demise’

Savita, mother of the late Himani Narwal, stated earlier in an interview with ANI, “…The election and the party cost my daughter her life. She made some enemies because of that.”

“These [perpetrators] could even be from the party, possibly her friends too…,” the mother added.

“After the election, she [Himani Narwal] had grown somewhat disheartened with the party. She expressed a desire for a job and indicated she didn’t want to dedicate so much time to party work…She had been associated with Congress for the past decade and had also agreed to an engagement. She was pursuing her LL.B…,” she informed ANI.

Narwal’s mother declared that she would not perform her daughter’s last rites until justice is served.

‘Authorities are unresponsive’

Narwal’s brother Jatin expressed, “I feel the authorities aren’t providing assistance. If they were, the perpetrators would have been caught by now…No one from Congress has reached out to us yet…Only two women from the Congress party came to see us…”

“We attempted to contact Asha Hooda (wife of Bhupinder Singh Hooda), but she did not answer our call,” Jatin added.

Narwal’s mother also mentioned, “I tried calling Asha Hooda that morning, but my call went unanswered.”

‘Family tensions’

Addressing reports of family tensions, the mother explained, “Indeed, there were [family tensions], and we lived in apprehension. I even took my son to a different location…My older son was murdered in 2011, and we never received justice. Hence, I took my remaining son to a BSF camp for his safety…”
