BMW has introduced the iX1 LWB, a long-wheelbase model that promises improved performance, range, and value for money. Priced at ₹49 lakh, ex-showroom, the iX1 LWB is set to attract premium electric car buyers with its practicality and space.

Visually, the iX1 LWB retains the overall design of the standard model, with subtle differences such as the front grille and LED projector headlights. The car sits on 18-inch wheels and features a bold diffuser at the rear, available in five different colors. The interior is typical of BMW, with a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a 10.7-inch infotainment system stealing the show. The 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, leatherette upholstery, and panoramic sunroof add to the premium feel of the cabin.

The longer wheelbase of the iX1 LWB (2,800 mm) increases interior space, making it the longest car in its segment. The front seats offer excellent lumbar support, while the rear seats provide ample legroom. The car is powered by a 66.4 kWh battery, delivering a claimed range of 531 km and 201 bhp. With a 0-100 km/h time of 8.6 seconds, the iX1 LWB is effortless to drive, thanks to its instant torque.

Charging the iX1 LWB with the standard 11 kW AC charger takes 6 hours and 30 minutes for a full charge. DC charging is possible, with the car supporting up to 130 kW. In terms of safety, the SUV comes equipped with eight airbags, adaptive cruise control, and Level 2 ADAS.

Overall, the BMW iX1 LWB offers a longer wheelbase at a competitive price point compared to rivals like the Mercedes-Benz EQA and Volvo EX40. With its combination of performance, range, and value, it is set to make a mark in the premium electric car segment.
