PM Modi Warns: Expecting ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ from Congress is Misguided

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party on Thursday, asserting that it would be a significant error to expect ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ from the nation’s oldest political party. During a session in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, PM Modi also targeted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader, Arvind Kejriwal, ahead of the upcoming Delhi elections. He made reference to the ‘Sheesh Mahal’, referring to the renovations at Kejriwal’s government residence located at 6, Flag Staff Road, stating that some parties were masquerading as ‘AAP-da’ regarding opportunities for the youth, as reported by Manoj CG.

The Prime Minister spent a considerable amount of time highlighting his government’s commitment to upholding constitutional values while directing his criticism towards Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi. He further addressed the Congress party’s position on the caste census and social justice, remarking that discussing caste has become fashionable for some individuals, and calling attention to their prior inaction over three decades concerning the constitutional recognition of the backward classes commission.

Here are the key statements:

  1. “The president’s address was inspirational, impactful, and also charted a path forward for all of us.”
  2. “Anticipating ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ from Congress is a considerable miscalculation. It’s beyond their comprehension and does not align with their agenda, as the entire party is devoted solely to one family.”
  3. “The people of India have experienced, understood, and endorsed our developmental model. Our development paradigm places ‘the nation first’.”
  4. “Post-2014, India has embraced an alternative governance model. This model does not prioritize appeasement but rather focuses on genuine satisfaction.”
  5. “Much has been expressed about ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’. I struggle to grasp the issue at hand. ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ is our duty, and it is for this reason the populace has granted us the privilege to serve here. But when it comes to Congress, I firmly believe that expecting ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ from them represents a grave misjudgment.”
  6. “For three decades, OBC MPs from both Houses and all political parties have been urging the government to endow constitutional recognition to the OBC Commission. This was repeatedly denied as it did not align with their political interests at that moment. After a prolonged wait, we granted constitutional status to this Commission, honoring the community’s demands.”
  7. “We have broadened reservation measures for the differently-abled. We operated in a mission-mode for this community. We not only formulated numerous schemes for them but also ensured their effective implementation. Furthermore, we secured legal rights for the transgender community. This exemplifies our commitment to the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.”
  8. “Congress has harbored disdain for Baba Saheb Ambedkar to such an extent that they reacted with hostility towards everything he conveyed. All pertinent documents are available. This animosity resulted in efforts to defeat Baba Saheb in elections on two occasions.”
  9. “Baba Saheb was never regarded as deserving of the Bharat Ratna. The citizens of this country and society as a whole held Baba Saheb in high esteem. Today, however, Congress finds itself compelled to say ‘Jai Bhim’.”
  10. “When Kharge ji recites poetry, I am reminded of a verse: ‘Those who perform theatrics are unaware of how we have endured great tempests to keep the flame alive.'”
  11. “Esteemed actors like Balraj Sahni and poets faced incarceration solely because they opposed the Congress governments. Hridaynath Mangeshkar, brother of Lata Mangeshkar, composed a poem on Veer Savarkar and wished to perform it on Akash Vani but was banned for life.”
  12. “This nation has witnessed a phase of emergency. Citizens remember the way the Constitution was undermined, and the spirit of the Constitution was trampled for the sake of power. During the Emergency, celebrated actor Dev Anand was pressured to openly endorse the measures, yet he resolutely declined. Consequently, all his movies were barred from airing on Doordarshan.”
