Market Update: L&T, Nestle, IndusInd Bank lead gains; ITC Hotels, Bharti Airtel in red.

On Friday, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Nestle India Ltd., IndusInd Bank Ltd., Titan Company Ltd., and Tata Motors Ltd. emerged as the top gainers in terms of share prices. On the other hand, shares of ITC Hotels Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., Bajaj Finserv Ltd., Bajaj Finance Ltd., and ICICI Bank Ltd. were among the laggards.

The BSE Sensex continued its winning streak for the fourth consecutive session, closing 0.97 per cent or 740.76 points higher at 77,500.57. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty gained 1.11 per cent or 258.90 points to end at 23,508.40.

Leading the gains, L&T saw a surge of 4.31 per cent to reach ₹3,567.20, driven by strong order book growth. Nestle India also showed strong momentum, rising by 4.25 per cent to ₹2,313.05. IndusInd Bank gained 3.66 per cent to close at ₹992.15, Titan Company added 3.59 per cent to finish at ₹3,489.70, and Tata Motors saw a gain of 2.73 per cent, closing at ₹716.00.

On the other hand, ITC Hotels was the biggest loser, dropping 2.98 per cent to ₹164.65. Bharti Airtel declined by 0.76 per cent to ₹1,627.95, Bajaj Finserv fell by 0.43 per cent to ₹1,737.15, Bajaj Finance slipped by 0.17 per cent to ₹7,885.55, and ICICI Bank closed 0.14 per cent lower at ₹1,252.35.

The bullish sentiment in the market was primarily driven by capital goods and FMCG stocks, supported by positive global cues following the European Central Bank’s decision to cut interest rates by 25 basis points. Investors also remained optimistic ahead of the upcoming Union Budget, anticipating pro-growth measures.
