Wipro Limited has secured a significant contract from Etihad Airways to lead the UAE national carrier’s technology modernization project, as announced on January 30, 2025. The five-year deal will involve Wipro overseeing the migration of the airline’s legacy systems and implementing operational efficiency enhancements in workplace, network, infrastructure, and service management.

As part of the agreement, Wipro FullStride Cloud will deploy a tailored cloud solution to provide Etihad with real-time insights on resource utilization and improve operational flexibility. The technology services firm will also integrate Generative AI modules across the IT framework, covering tasks from data center automation to end-user support.

Frank Meyer, Chief Digital Officer of Etihad Airways, highlighted the partnership’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and cost optimization. The airline will have access to Wipro’s Innovation Lab in the UAE to address its evolving technological requirements.

With over two decades of presence in the Middle East, Wipro brings its expertise in the aviation industry and capabilities in cloud transformation to the collaboration. The contract, which was alluded to in Wipro’s financial results announcement on January 17, 2025, for the quarter ended December 31, 2024, was finally confirmed with Etihad Airways.

Wipro Limited’s stock closed at ₹309.50 today, marking a decrease of ₹2.95 or 0.94% on the NSE.
