Qualcomm Technologies and MapmyIndia have recently announced a strategic collaboration to develop indigenous automotive connectivity solutions, supporting India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. This partnership aims to create affordable telematics solutions for both four-wheeler and two-wheeler segments in the domestic and global markets.

MapmyIndia will leverage Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Auto Connectivity Platform to develop telematics solutions tailored for Indian automakers. The focus of this collaboration is to bring high-quality connectivity features to mid-tier and low-tier vehicles, making advanced automotive technology more accessible to the mass market.

By integrating Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud Services with MapmyIndia’s MAPPLS automotive services, the partnership will create a software-defined vehicle framework. This integration will enable device and cloud services management through a unified platform with a common interface for vehicles utilizing Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions.

Rakesh Verma, the CMD and Founder of MapmyIndia, highlighted that this collaboration will democratize access to features that were previously only available in premium vehicles. Savi Soin, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India, noted that the partnership will help automakers accelerate time to market while reducing costs.

MapmyIndia, founded in 1995, is India’s leading digital maps and deep-tech company, serving over 2,000 enterprise customers and providing comprehensive digital mapping solutions across the country.

Overall, the partnership between Qualcomm Technologies and MapmyIndia is a significant step towards advancing indigenous automotive technology and promoting the ‘Make in India’ initiative. It aims to make advanced connectivity solutions more accessible to a wider range of vehicles, ultimately benefiting both consumers and automakers in India and beyond.
