The collaboration between the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and De Beers Group, known as INDRA (Indian Natural Diamond Retailer Alliance), marks a significant partnership aimed at strengthening the reach of natural diamonds. This strategic alliance will utilize Artificial Intelligence to create personalized retailer campaigns, ensuring that natural diamonds resonate with consumers on a deeper level.

With the Indian diamond jewelry market becoming the second largest in the world, the INDRA collaboration is well-positioned to capitalize on this growth. The program aims to tap into India’s young population, the rise of organized players, and the increasing demand across various segments of jewelry, such as bridal, everyday wear, fashion, and entry-level pieces.

By offering multi-lingual staff training modules and access to a market intelligence portal, retailers participating in the INDRA program will have the necessary tools to enhance their knowledge of natural diamonds and cater to consumer preferences effectively. This initiative not only aims to increase the penetration of natural diamonds in the Indian market but also aligns with the industry’s ambitious goal of reaching $130 billion by 2030.

Through this collaboration, GJEPC and De Beers Group are leveraging their respective expertise to drive growth in the diamond industry. With GJEPC’s deep understanding of the Indian market and De Beers Group’s diamond category proficiency, the partnership is poised to bring about significant advancements in promoting natural diamonds.

Furthermore, the adoption of updated diamond guidelines by the GJEPC, following the Federal Trade Commission’s standards, ensures transparency and clarity for industry stakeholders and consumers alike. This commitment to adherence to industry standards reflects the dedication of both partners to promoting ethical practices in the diamond sector.

As the INDRA collaboration kicks off with an interactive roadshow in January, industry stakeholders can look forward to a renewed focus on promoting natural diamonds in the Indian market. With the ambition to drive growth and consumer awareness, this strategic partnership between GJEPC and De Beers Group sets a positive trajectory for the future of the diamond industry in India.
