The Telangana Government is making significant strides in promoting the automobile industry, according to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. During a discussion with representatives from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at their national executive council meeting on Friday, he outlined various initiatives aimed at transforming Hyderabad into a pollution-free city by relocating high-emission vehicles beyond the Outer Ring Road.

In addition, Reddy highlighted the empowerment of women in Telangana, noting that 6.7 million women are currently registered as members of self-help groups (SHGs). These groups are establishing canteens in government offices and are encouraged to set up solar power generation plants with a total capacity of 1,000 MW. The government aims to elevate one crore women to the status of “Crorepatis,” with a particular emphasis on supporting rural women.

The Chief Minister also discussed strategies to boost the automobile sector in the state, including plans to enhance road and rail connectivity to Machilipatnam Port. He has requested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi approve a regional ring railway line and expressed intentions to develop industrial clusters similar to those found in China. Plans are in place to construct radial roads connecting the Outer Ring Road and the proposed Regional Ring Road.

Moreover, Reddy noted that around 1.1 million engineering graduates enter the job market in Telangana each year. To assist them, the government is launching various skill development programs and is investing ₹2,400 crores in collaboration with Tata Group to upgrade Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to Advanced Training Centres (ATCs).
