Delhi-NCR Reinforces GRAP 3 Amid Persistent Severe Air Quality Conditions

The sub-committee overseeing the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) has implemented all measures under Stage III of the updated schedule in the Delhi-NCR region, effective immediately. This decision follows the ongoing severe air quality index (AQI) readings in the area.

To prevent further air quality deterioration, Stage III introduces additional measures on top of those already in place from Stage I and II. One significant change includes the mandatory adoption of a hybrid learning model for students in grades up to V. This allows families the option to choose virtual learning where available.

Moreover, Stage III enforces restrictions on vehicles, specifically banning BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers in Delhi and neighboring NCR zones. Additionally, non-essential diesel-powered medium goods vehicles that meet BS-IV emission standards or older are prohibited from operating in Delhi under these new regulations.
