Hyderabad

Private hospitals in Andhra Pradesh have suspended their services under the state’s flagship healthcare initiative, Aarogysri.

A representative of the AP Hospitals Association reported that outpatient and some other services were stopped by several hospitals starting Monday, and by Tuesday morning, all empanelled facilities had ceased operations.

The official mentioned that the government’s outstanding payments have accumulated to nearly ₹3000 crore, making it difficult for hospitals to continue providing services.

He warned that if the government does not settle these dues promptly, emergency services may also be halted within a couple of weeks.

In response, the government is expected to engage in discussions with the hospitals today in hopes of persuading them to resume their services.
