Rajnath Singh Urges Armymen: India Must Not Remain Unconcerned

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remarked on Sunday that India is “not very fortunate” regarding border security, as it faces challenges from both external and internal threats. He urged the armed forces to remain vigilant, emphasizing that adversaries are perpetually active.

Speaking to Army personnel at the Mhow cantonment in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Singh noted, “Considering the security situation, India has not been very lucky, as we constantly encounter challenges along both our northern and western borders.” He added, “We also confront issues domestically. In light of this, we cannot afford to be complacent. Our enemies, whether from within or outside, are always on the move. Therefore, it’s imperative that we closely monitor their activities and take appropriate and timely actions against them.”

As the Defence Minister, he expressed the need for constant vigilance, stating, “Even though this period is often labeled as peacetime, I was deeply impressed by the discipline and commitment you exhibit in your training. Your regimen is comparable to that of a wartime scenario.” He further emphasized that maintaining such high standards of discipline and dedication requires strong conviction.

Earlier in the day, Singh, accompanied by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, paid floral tributes at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar memorial in Mhow.
