Public sector undertakings (PSUs) have been facing a tough time on the stock market recently, with key indices such as the BSE PSU index and Nifty PSU Bank index experiencing a decline. This downturn has been driven by widespread selling pressure in major PSU stocks such as BEL, GAIL, and REC Ltd.

The BSE PSU index has shed 68.41 points, or 0.36%, to reach 19,041.86 points, while the Nifty PSU Bank index has declined by 0.32% to 6,609.25 points. Heavyweights like PFC, ONGC, Coal India, and NMDC have also contributed to the drop in these indices.

Despite the overall negative trend, some PSU stocks have managed to buck the trend and record gains. Companies like PNB, NLC India, Cochin Shipyard, Concor, and NTPC have seen an increase in their stock prices, with NTPC posting a notable rise of 4.15 points.

On the broader market front, the BSE Sensex has risen by 260.26 points or 0.33%, reaching 78,732.74, while the NSE Nifty has gained 106.60 points or 0.45%, reaching 23,857.80. The overall market sentiment remains positive despite the challenges faced by PSU stocks.

In conclusion, the performance of PSU stocks on the stock market has been mixed, with some facing selling pressure while others manage to register gains. Investors will need to carefully monitor developments in the sector to make informed decisions about their investment portfolios.
