In an exciting development, director Siddharth P Malhotra is set to bring the real-life love story of filmmaker Kamal Amrohi and actress Meena Kumari to the big screen in his upcoming film ‘Kamal Aur Meena’, scheduled for release in 2026. While the cast details have been kept under wraps, rumor has it that Bollywood actress Kiara Advani has been approached to play the role of Meena Kumari.

Speculation about Kiara’s involvement in the project heightened after she liked a video announcement of the film shared by Yoodlee Films on Instagram. Fans also noted that Siddharth P Malhotra has started following Kiara on Instagram and has been commenting on her posts, adding fuel to the rumors.

The announcement of ‘Kamal Aur Meena’ has generated a lot of excitement among movie buffs, with the director promising a cinematic experience that will bring to life one of the most iconic love stories in Hindi cinema history.

Interestingly, fashion designer Manish Malhotra has also announced a biopic on Meena Kumari, starring Kriti Sanon in the lead role. However, reports suggest that the project has been delayed for unknown reasons and is expected to kick off in early 2025. It’s worth noting that two different films will explore the intriguing life of the late actor Meena Kumari.

As we look forward to these cinematic treats, it’s clear that Meena Kumari’s legacy continues to captivate audiences even decades after her passing.
