Only a few days remain until the release of director Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated film, Singham Again. Exciting news has emerged about this Ajay Devgn starrer – superstar Salman Khan will make a cameo appearance as the iconic police officer Chulbul Pandey in the film. Salman’s entry into Rohit Shetty’s cop universe has stirred up a lot of excitement among fans. Interestingly, Salman Khan has portrayed the role of a police officer in several films apart from the Dabangg franchise, and most of these films turned out to be blockbusters.

Let’s take a look at some of the times when Salman Khan donned the uniform in Bollywood:

Auzaar: In 1997, Salman Khan played the role of a police officer for the first time in the film ‘Auzaar,’ directed by his younger brother Sohail Khan. Despite starring alongside actors Sanjay Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty, the film failed to make an impact at the box office.

Garv: Salman Khan returned as Inspector Arjun Ranawat in the film ‘Garv’ in 2004. Directed by Puneet Issar, the movie showcased Salman’s swag in a police uniform and performed decently at the box office.

Wanted: Director Prabhu Deva’s film ‘Wanted’ proved to be a game-changer for Salman Khan in 2009. The movie marked a turning point in Salman’s career, leading to a string of successful films. ‘Wanted’ was a hit, earning 60.24 crores at the box office.

Dabangg Franchise: Salman Khan’s portrayal of Chulbul Pandey in the Dabangg franchise has been highly praised. The three movies in the franchise have not only entertained audiences but also raked in significant revenues at the box office.

  • Dabangg (2010) – 138.88 crores
  • Dabangg 2 (2012) – 155 crores
  • Dabangg 3 (2019) – 146.1 crores

Kick: The blockbuster film ‘Kick,’ produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and released in 2014, saw Salman Khan in a memorable role. As a suspense thriller, the movie revealed Salman as a police officer towards the climax and grossed 231.85 crores at the box office.

Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Salman Khan’s film ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ was released on OTT platforms, showcasing Salman in yet another cop avatar.

Antim: In the film ‘Antim,’ Salman Khan portrayed the character of police officer Rajveer Singh Sandhu, playing the second lead alongside his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma. ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ collected 39 crores at the box office.

Having appeared in a police uniform in nine movies throughout his career, ‘Singham Again’ will mark Salman Khan’s tenth film in which he will exhibit his power in khaki attire.

It’s remarkable to see Salman Khan’s versatility as an actor, effortlessly transitioning into different roles, including that of a dedicated police officer on screen.
