The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has made a significant decision to postpone the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025 and reopen the application window for new candidates. This decision comes in light of a change in the recruitment scheme for Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) officers.

The government has decided that recruitment for the IRMS will now be conducted through both the Civil Services Examinations and the ESE. Consequently, the UPSC has rescheduled the ESE (Preliminary) and ESE (Main) exams for 2025. The new dates are 8th June 2025 and 10th August 2025 respectively, giving aspirants more time to prepare.

For new applicants, the application window will open on October 18 and close on November 22. There will be a correction window from November 23 to November 29, allowing candidates to edit their details if needed.

Candidates who applied during the original application window from September 18 to October 8 do not need to reapply. However, they can update their information during the new application window and correction period.

Due to the inclusion of IRMS in the ESE-2025, the application process that was initially set to open on October 9 has been put on hold until further notice. It is essential for candidates to stay updated on any changes and follow the instructions provided by the UPSC.
