The highly acclaimed action-drama film Gangs of Wasseypur is set to make a spectacular return to the big screen. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, this beloved Hindi movie will be re-released in theaters on August 30, 2024. The decision to bring back this classic follows a recent trend of re-releasing fan-favorite films, and fans are eagerly looking forward to Gangs of Wasseypur’s comeback.

Starring Manoj Bajpayee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Gangs of Wasseypur will be back in theaters for a special one-week run from August 30 to September 5. Director Anurag Kashyap made the exciting announcement on his Instagram, sharing official posters from both parts of the film. In his caption, he mentioned, “In three days the Gang will be back again.. GOW back in cinemas.”

The news was met with excitement from fans, with many expressing their joy at the prospect of reliving the film on the big screen. Some even speculated on the strong box office performance the re-release might receive. Over the years, Gangs of Wasseypur has garnered a strong following, making its return to theaters a highly anticipated event.

More than just a movie, Gangs of Wasseypur is a two-part saga of revenge that has left a lasting impact on Indian cinema since its release in 2012. Alongside Manoj Bajpayee, the film features a talented ensemble cast including Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chadha, Huma Qureshi, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Originally showcased in its entirety at the 2012 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, Gangs of Wasseypur was well-received at international film festivals, solidifying its position as a cinematic milestone in Indian cinema history. Initially filmed as a single 321-minute piece, it was split into two parts due to theater constraints in India.

Save the date for August 30, as Faizal Bhai is making a grand return to the silver screen.
