Alia Bhatt’s latest film, Jigra, has recently hit the theaters, facing a clash with Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. However, amidst the new releases, a war of words has erupted between filmmaker Divya Khosla and producer Karan Johar. The controversy began when Divya questioned the authenticity of the Jigra collection, leading to Karan Johar responding on his Instagram story, referring to such comments as insignificant. Interestingly, both parties have refrained from directly naming each other, opting instead to share cryptic posts on their Instagram stories.

The feud between Divya and Karan escalated further when Divya posted a picture of an empty cinema hall on Instagram, accusing the collection figures of Alia’s film to be false. In response, Karan Johar posted a cryptic story on his official Instagram, implying that silence is the best response to foolish remarks. Divya also retaliated with her own cryptic posts, suggesting that truth triggers fools and hinting at the act of stealing and claiming credit for others’ work.

The reason behind Divya’s resentment towards the makers of Jigra stems from the similarities between the film and her own project, Saavi, released earlier this year. Both films revolve around a jailbreak theme, with Divya’s team alleging that Jigra has plagiarized and adapted their script. Despite the similarities in theme, the two films differ significantly in their storytelling approach.

As for the box office performance of Jigra, the film has not generated substantial numbers in its first two days. It garnered Rs 4.55 crore on its opening day and Rs 6.55 crore on the second day, amounting to a total collection of Rs 11.10 crore in two days.

In the midst of this controversy, it will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds and whether the parties involved choose to address the issue directly.
