The festival of Vijayadashami signifies the triumph of good over evil, making it one of the most significant celebrations in India. This year, Dussehra will be observed on October 12, marking the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana. In the realm of cinema, many actors have portrayed characters inspired by Ravana. Here are five actors who have taken on roles inspired by the iconic villain:

Arjun Kapoor, known for his heroic roles in Bollywood, is set to portray a villain inspired by Ravana in the upcoming film Singham Again. The trailer for the movie has already offered a glimpse of his portrayal as a modern-day Ravana, and audiences can anticipate his performance when the film releases this Diwali.

Arjun Rampal has portrayed negative characters in several films, including the role of the villain Ra.One in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer movie of the same name. His character in Ra.One drew inspiration from the legendary demon king Ravana, showcasing Arjun Rampal’s versatility as an actor.

Abhishek Bachchan, a talented actor known for his diverse roles, delivered a memorable performance as a villain in Mani Ratnam’s film Raavan. His character in the movie bore resemblance to the mythological figure Dashanan, earning him praise for his portrayal of the complex antagonist.

Saif Ali Khan took on the larger-than-life character of Ravana in the film Adipurush, directed by Om Raut. Despite facing criticism for its screenplay, dialogues, and visual effects, Saif Ali Khan’s portrayal of the iconic villain added depth to the narrative of the epic saga.

Shine Tom Chacko portrayed a negative role in the film Dussehra, directed by Srikanth Odela. The movie explores the age-old battle between good and evil using the Ramayana as a metaphor, with Shine Tom Chacko’s performance adding intensity to the conflict.

These actors have showcased their talent and versatility by bringing characters inspired by Ravana to life on the silver screen, captivating audiences with their nuanced portrayals.
