In the highlands of Baja Verapaz, Guatemala, Indigenous women are reclaiming their voices and empowering themselves through Well-Being Clubs, supported by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). These clubs provide a platform for over 500 women and girls to explore emotions, enhance self-esteem, and develop resilience in their native languages, Achí and Kaqchikel. The initiative, part of a broader regional project to address the risks associated with irregular migration, focuses on creating safe spaces for personal growth and community support. Participants engage in activities designed to foster confidence, including gratitude journaling and trust-building exercises, reinforcing their rights and collective impact within their communities. Funded by the Government of Canada, this program aims to help women reclaim their voices and secure brighter futures.
